![]() Tactics are just as -dare I say even more- important than they are in Warband. Even with a thorough understanding of troop strength, you can still get wiped or wipe a party. That's really the only meta thing I can think of. I think the tournaments refresh either every week, so you could easily make about 63000 denars per week, assuming that there's three tournaments (which seems to be the average amount) and the cities that they're in are close together. If you're a confident solo fighter and your stats are good enough (at least competitive at levels 10-15) you can make about 21 thousand denars per tournament. As soon as you get to tournaments (usually about level 10-15 for me) everything becomes so much easier in terms of money. That doesn't make it grindy as people who are experienced with PoP know how to 'meta' and can get up and running pretty fast by knowing how to get money and what troops are the best. Many people coming over from vanilla or mods without much depth perceive PoP's depth as 'difficulty.' You just have to understand that when you start PoP you are weak and need to spend a bit of time leveling up, acquiring gear, and getting higher level troops. Originally posted by Metro:PoP isn't hard so much as it takes an understanding of relative troop strength. But, I assume that's not what you were looking for. PS- There's always horribly broken, unfinished, and unbalanced mods, too. It's hard because it provides very different gameplay from any other mod. Concerned about "Morale?" Your troops consider watching you defending your right to command against one of their number, often with death as the final arbiter, "entertainment." But, only until they get bored again and start blaming you for it. A few snacks of man-flesh will help keep them happy, most of the time. ![]() And, you'll have to fight your own Orcs to stay in command, too. You will watch your massive army of cannon fodder get wiped by a few anemic Elves. Here's something, though - Being an Orc in "The Last Days of the Third Age" is delighfully difficult. So many old PoP threads where late-game players got made to wear their as a hat by Snake Cultists. (Or used to be.) And, that's a Bad Thing for a late-game attempt. that Snake Cult camp is "leveled content" just like a Village Defense. And, don't leave those special camps alone until the late game. The Unique armies are no joke in the Early/Mid game. :)) And, PoP will keep doing its best to kick your butt all over the map, too. (I don't count "Horse Archer" as anything but "Cheese". There are units in PoP you can't reliably 1 v 1 until the very late game.
